Ovo je početak jednog novog Festivala, jedne nove ideje, nastavak jedne bogate kulturne tradicije…
Grad Kotor i Bokokotorski zaliv sa bogatom istorijskom i kulturnom baštinom u kojoj dominira venecijanska civilizacija i kultura, donekle je zapostavio antičko nasljeđe kojim je ovaj prostor takođe bogat. O tome svjedoče arheološka nalazišta grčkog, rimskog i ilirskog porijekla. Jedan od ciljeva ovog Festivala je i promocija tog nasljeđa kao i podrška daljim istraživanjima.
Festival nosi naziv ’’Teuta’’ po ilirskoj kraljici koja je vladala na ovim prostorima suprotstavjajući se moćnom Rimu. Kraljevstvo Ilira je vjerovatno najautentičnija državna tvorevina na Balkanu, čije nasljeđe baštine svi narodi ovih prostora.
Oslanjajući se na antičku civilizaciju i antičko nasljeđe, ovaj Festival ima namjeru da promoviše posve nove i moderne teatarske tendencije kad su u pitanju antičke teme i antički mitovi.
Danas se veliki broj tetarskih ostvarenja u svijetu bavi ili ima za inspiraciju antičke teme, a specifičnost našeg Festivala je u tome sto će promovisati, prije svega, predstave istraživačkog karaktera, oslanjajući se na rituale, kamernost i intimnost.
Prema festivalskoj koncepciji, on će iz godine u godinu imati ekskluzivnu temu, kao što je ovoga puta Medeia.
U potrazi za novim licem antičkog teatra, silazimo do onih krugova civilizacije koji su oduvijek bili izvorište i inspiracija teatru i kulturi u cjelini, pogotovo na njihovim prekretnicama.

With their rich historical and cultural heritage dominated by the Venetian civilization and culture, the town of Kotor and the Bay of Kotor have to a certain extent neglected the ancient heritage that this whole area abounds in. This is born witness to by archaeological finds of Greek, Roman and Illyrian origin. One of the aims of this festival is to promote ancient heritage and foster further research.
The festival is entitled ’’Teuta’’ after the Illyrian queen who ruled these areas in defiance of the mighty Roman Empire. The Illyrian Kingdom is probably the most authentic state formation in the Balkans, its heritage belonging to all people groups from this region.
Resting upon this ancient civilization and heritage, this festival is aimed at promoting entirely new and modern theatrical trends relating to the treatment of ancient themes and ancient myths.
Today a large number of theatrical performances around the world deal with or are inspired by ancient themes. The peculiarity of our festival lies in the fact that it will primarily promote exploratory performances, relying upon rituals, enclosed spaces and intimacy.
In line with its concept, each year the festival will focus on a particular exclusive theme. This time the theme is Medea.
In search of the new face of ancient theatre, we descend to the circles of civilization, which has always served as the point of departure and inspiration for the theatre and culture as a whole, particularly at their turning points.
